The porosity of carbonate rocks essentially affects all other physical properties. Depending on the time of production, the porosity of carbonate reservoirs can have sedimentary, sedimentary metamorphic, and epigenetic causes. The former is the native porosity, the latter is the secondary porosity. The porosity of sedimentary origin may be primary or secondary.
