云南省国营花园林场小哨林区,位于宜良、路南两县交界的山区,区内山脉纵横交错,起伏不平,海拔在1600～2100米。1954年营造的云南松和华山松已郁闭成林。1963年发现约300亩幼林受松尺蠖危害,1964年蔓延达1,000余亩,曾用“621”杀虫烟雾剂防治,由于受害面积较大,防治不够彻底,至1965年春遍及全林区,同年12月初调查,有虫株率达100%,
