Originated from the reverence and attachment of the first European settlers to the vast Americas wilderness, natural literature is convinced that “only knowing the foot of this land will it be possible to know oneself.” [1] Thus, In the eighteenth century, many essays, travel notes and diaries describing the “natural images” of the New World came into being, laying the foundation for the future prosperity and unique style of natural literature. However, it was not until the 19th century that the ideas and connotations of natural literature were laid down. Representative works include Cole’s Essays on American Landscapes (1836), Emerson’s On Nature (1841) and Thoreau’s Wal- Gordon Lake "(1854). The ecological ethics contained in these works took the lead in setting the program, slogan and purpose of the current environmental protection campaign. They can be described as the declaration of a green revolution.
