都说现在是网络时代，“写字”已经成为颇罕见的行为。不过人生还是要靠自己一笔一画去书写的。本期我们一起来看看如何“write”吧！
write away连续地写
☆ My grandpa’s been writing away the whole morning and didn’t say a word.
我爷爷一整天都在写东西，话都不说一句。
☆ I started writing away at the first part of my dissertation when the idea came to my mind.
当脑子里的想法形成时，我奋笔疾书开始论文第一部分的写作。
write back 回信
☆ I sent him a letter but he didn’t write back.
我给他写了一封信，可是他没有回我。
☆ I wrote back saying that we would be happy to accept their invitation.
我回信告诉他我们很高兴接受他们的邀请。
write down 写下；写文章诋毁
1．写下，记下
☆ So I don’t forget, can you write that down, please?
以防我会忘记，你能把那写下来吗？拜托你了。
☆ I wrote down his phone number on a piece of paper but I can’t find it now.
我把他的电话号码写在一张纸上，可是现在我找不到那张纸了。
2．写文章贬低或诋毁
☆ He tried in vain to write down the movement.
他枉费心机地写文章诋毁这场运动。
Tips: write down as则是“把……描写成”的意思，如They wrote him down as a lazy worker.（他们把他描绘成一个懒惰的工人。）
write in 发信（索取赠品或提供意见等）
☆ To give us your comments on today’s show, write in to the usual address.
要对我们今天的节目发表评论，请来信至平常那个地址。
☆ The first one hundred people who write in will receive a free copy.
前一百名来信的人都会得到一份赠品。
write up 把……清楚记下，整理成文；把……写在公众场所；更新
1. 把……以一种很清晰的方式记下，整理成文
☆ After every class, I always write up my notes straight away.
每节课后，我都会马上整理好笔记。
2. 把……写在墙上、公告栏等公众场合
☆ If you want to join, just write your name up on the notice board.
如果你想参加，只要把名字写在布告栏上就可以了。
3．更新最新情况，如日志等

write off取消（债务）；放弃；迅速写出
1．取消债务
☆ The rich countries in the West should write off the debts of the Third World.
西方那些富裕的国家应该取消第三世界国家所欠下的债务。
☆ We had to write off quite a lot of bad debts at the end of the year.
年底的时候我们都得勾销一些坏账。
2．当……不存在，放弃
☆ Children who are not aca-demic are often written off by schools instead of being helped.
学校通常会辞退那些学习不好的孩子，而不是对他们进行辅导。
3．轻而易举地写出；迅速地写出
☆ She wrote off a poem in half an hour.
她半个小时就作了一首诗。
write away for something 发信函购；发信索要产品情况
☆ I want a free copy so I’ll write away for one.
我想要一个赠阅版本，所以我写信去索要。
☆ She has written away for a brochure with details of the course.
她写信去索要一本有关课程细节的小册子。
