Rat airway smooth muscle specimens are widely used abroad for respiratory pharmacological experiments and receptor studies have not been reported in China. In order to make use of the isolated airway smooth muscle specimens and to compare the drug response characteristics of different parts of the trachea and the bronchi, we observed some pharmacodynamic characteristics of the trachea and bronchus of rats and are reported as follows.
