To investigate the possible risk factors for primary hepatocellular carcinoma in Shunde City, Guangdong Province, we investigated 96 cases of primary liver cancer and 144 patients matched with hospital management as a control group according to the same principle of age and gender. A uniform questionnaire was used for all investigators to directly ask 91 possible pathogenetic factors, and venous blood was used to detect serological markers of HBV and HCV. The results showed that the occurrence of primary liver cancer in Shunde was closely related to HBV infection. The history of hepatitis, history of drinking, the history of eating fish or raw shrimp, and the history of pickled salted fish were all major risk factors for the occurrence of primary liver cancer. The synergy between the occurrence of primary liver cancer and HBV and HCV co-infection was discussed and worthy of further study.
