Introduction : PURPOSE: To investigate the differences of cardiac function and characteristics of aortic valve according to myocardial fibrosis (MF) in patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS).Method : Eighty-one patients (48 male, mean age 59 ± 12 years) with pure severe AS (n =33) or severe AS with mild aortic regurgitation (n =48) were included in the study.All patients underwent transthoracic echoeardiography (TTE), cardiac computed tomography (CCT) and cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and subsequent valvuloplasty operation.Patients were analyzed according to the presence or absence of MF on CMR.The differences of cardiac function and valvular characteristics between two groups are statistically analyzed.
