Thymidylate synthasc (TS) is an essential enzyme for DNA synthesis as it catalyses the reduetive methylation of dUMP to dTMP,which is a necessary precursor of thymine for DNA synthesis.It is an obligate dimeric protein showing both catalytic and mRNA regulatory activity.TS is an important target for treating ovarian cancer,but commonly used drugs induce early drug resistance.To tackle this problem,we aim to discover compounds that interferewith the protein dimer assembly formation and thereby reduction of catalytic activity and enable mRNA regulation of protein expression.
