Objective: The Ras superfamily is divided into five principal subfamilies, namely, Ras, Rho, Rab, ADP-ribosylation factor, and Ran.These proteins have important functions in diverse cellular and developmental events.RBJ, which is a newly identified member of the sixth subfamily of Ras-related small GTPase, was cloned independently (GenBank No.AF178983, referred to as RabJ).RBJ has been reported by other laboratories, but biological and functional data for RBJ are insufficient. Most Ras-related small GTPases are involved in the regulation of tumorigenesis and tumor progression.
