Alternative splicing (AS) is an important regulatory mechanism that contributes greatly to the diversity of eukaryotic transcriptomes.Much evidence has demonstrated that AS complexity is relevant to eukaryotic evolution, development, adaptation, and complexity. Here, six teosinte and ten maize transcriptomes were sequenced to study the AS changes and signatures of selection in maize domestication and improvement.

Ribosome biogenesis is a basal cellular process in eukaryotic cells.Significant progress has been made on the biochemistry of ribosome biogenesis, however little is known about the cellular consequence
Gene duplication exists in nearly all species and can result in coding and regulatory divergence. In maize, whole genome duplication (WGD) resulted in the subgenomes maize 1 and maize2,with maize 1 the
Building maize pan-genome is of major importance because there are more variable between maize individuals than human and apes combined. Here we integrated next generation sequencing data of 79 maize i
Variation in gene expression no doubt contributes to diversity and evolution of phenotype. In this study,we explored the expression present and absence variation (ePAV) by RNA sequencing the kernels of
