Nowadays, osteoporosis is a social problem around the world.Osteoporosis is a bone disease that results from unusual balance between bone formation and bone resorption.But osteoporosis does have no symptoms, osteoporosis caused by osteoclast leads to increase the risk of fracture.Such being the case, we examined the effects of Yukmijihwangtang(YJT) on receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappaB ligand(RANKL)-mediated osteoclast differentiation.YJT has been known to cure inflammation, hyperlipemia, arteriosclerosis and gynecological disease, according to the ancient Chinese and Korean medicinal and herb literature.But, the effect of YJT on osteoclast Formation has been unknown.Thus, we evaluated the effects of YJT on RANKL-induced osteoclast differentiation from bone marrow-derived macrophages(BMMs) and performed a cytotoxicity assay and Western blotting analysis.
