The WRKY gene family,which encode proteins in the regulation processes of diverse developmental stages,is one of the largest families of transcription factors in higher plants.Subgroup I genes of WRKY family(WRKY I)serve as the node for signal transduction,and play important roles in the response to abiotic stress in plants.Compaired with those researches in function,molecular evolutionary mechanism in Gramineae WRKY I genes is pooly understood.With the increasing availability of sequenced plant genomes,we searched the genome databases of Brachypodium,rice,sorghum,and maize and identified 16,12,10,and 16 WRKY I genes,respectively,in the four grass species.Microsynteny analysis was conducted based on genomic segments containing the WRKY I genes.
