Cr2O3-forming ferritic stainless steels (FSS) have been widely used as intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells (ITSOFCs) metallic interconnects. However, the evaporation of chromia might migrate to and poison the cathode, leading to degradation of the SOFC stack performance.Thermal expansion behavior of Fe-Ni alloys is close to that of FSS and their oxide formed in the environment of SOFC cathode had high electrical conductivity. In this paper, Fe-Ni alloy coating was deposited on FSS by means of electroplating method.
