Thyroid Cancer is the most common endocrine neoplasms and its incidence is rising all around the world.Most of the new diagnosed cases are small cancers in young women.Surgery, with Total thyroidectomy, with or without Neck Dissection, is the main treatment for this cancer and new technologies are available for the procedure that will be discussed in this lecture.Minimally Invasive Video Assisted Surgery is feasible for Initial Thyroid Cancer and has aesthetic advantages.Intraoperative Nerve Monitoring is gaining acceptance for minimizing one of the most common complications of Thyroidectomies that is Recurrent Laryngeal Nerve paralysis, mainly avoiding bilateral paralysis.
