PurposeSome findings showed that subcortical areas, such as amygdala on the expression of emotional behavior, play an important role in cognitive processing emotions. However, the prefrontal cortex and anterior cingulate cortex are the critical areas of regulating emotional state and expressing emotional behavior. In addition, compared with the healthy controls, depressive patients are more sensitive to negative emotions. On the contrary,it is insensitive to the positive emotions. In this paper, the amygdala, anterior cingulate cortex and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex were selected as interested areas. We explored the difference of effective connectivity between depressive patients and healthy controls under positive and negative stimulation.
