Current treatment for HIV-1 infection in the CNS has largely hampered due to the BBB blockage of many therapeutic drug into the brain.To test Monocytes and their derived macrophages (MDM) as a potential vehicle to deliver therapeutic drugs into the brain as a non-invasive cell-based approach,freshly isolated and cultured MDM were tested for their trafficking into the brain following Ⅳ infusion using C57BL/6 mice with acute subregional neuroinflammation as an in vivo model.
