Effective half-life of 137Cs in mature fruits, in stone fruits (Japanese apricot, sweet cherry and peach), Japanese persimmon and yuzu (Citrus spp.) were measured.Two Japanese apricot trees (cultivar "Ryukyou-koume"), 3 sweet cherry(cultivar "Satonishiki") and peach (cultivar "Akastuki") trees from the Fruit Tree Research Centre, Fukushima Agricultural Technology Centre,6 Japanese persimmon (cultivar "Hachiya") from a commercial orchard in Date City and several yuzu trees in 3 commercial orchards in Fukushima City were selected tor examination.To evaluate decontamination effect of bark washing, half the Japanese persimmon trees were washed with a high pressure washer.
