Interaction of the lower crust with fluids of magmatic or metamorphic origin is regarded to have controlled various granulite-forming processes,including dehydration/hydration reactions,partial melting,material circulation,and high-temperature metasomatism (e.g.,Newton et al.,1998;Santosh and Omori 2008;Touret,and Huizenga,2012).Such fluids associated with granulite formation are probably low in H2O activity (aH2O) for stabilizing anhydrous mineral assemblages in the rocks.Here,we report two examples of metasomatic processes related to interaction of infiltrated low-aH2O fluids with surrounding rocks and formation of unique granulite-facies assemblages at high- to ultrahightemperature conditions.
