Male accessory glands(MAGs)are important organs in male reproductive systems.The proteins secreted by MAGs are the largest component of seminal fluid proteins(SFPs),which are transferred to females along with sperm at mating.SFPs may have generated high levels of sequence diversity although comparative structural modeling indicates that major functional classes of SFPs are conserved.Identification of SFPs in insects provides insight into the evolution of reproductive traits.
