In this study, the saliva proteomes of heavy smokers (HS) and nonsmokers (NS) were compared.Unstimulated whole saliva (UWS) from HS and NS volunteers of the age between 35 to 55 years old was collected and used in the study.The UWS was mixed with 10% TCA/acetone/20mM DTT overnight at-20℃ to precipitate the proteins.The pellets obtained after centrifugation were solubilised in rehydration buffer and used in the 2-Dimensional Gel Electrophoresis (2-DE) analysis.
