The proteolytic degradation of the extracellular matrix by tumor cells requires the action of highly specialized MMPs (matrix metalloproteinases) that are expressed in cell-or tissue-specific patterns.MMPs also play an important role in wound healing, angiogenesis, embryogenesis, and in pathological processes such as tumor invasion and metastasis.Therefore MMP attracts our attention as a target of new antitumor agent.We are also interested in action of MMP for the wrinkles formation of the skin in the field of cosmetics.In this presentation we describe the synthesis of new MMP inhibitors and evaluation of their MMP-inhibitory activity.Data of their inhibitory activity will be presented in detail in the poster.
