The dispersion of CuO supported on γ-Al2O3 support was studied using X-ray diffraction.Highly dispersed or crystalline CeO2 would appear on the γ-Al2O3 support when CuO loading is below or more than its monolayer coverage,and the monolayer coverage is 0.275g CuO/g (γ-Al2O3) determined by internal-standard method.Reduction peak temperature range of 0.10g CuO/g (γ-Al2O3),0.50g CuO/g (γ-Al2O3),and pure CuO samples were 420-690℃; 210-300℃,and 410-730℃; 290-380℃ respectively.Compared with 0.50g CuO/g (γ-Al2O3) and pure CeO2 samples,reduction temperature of 0.10g CuO/g (γ-Al2O3) decrease due to the interaction between the CuO and the γ-Al2O3 support.Study on the dispersion and redox properties of CuO supported on γ-Al2O3 is helpful in understanding the interaction between copper oxide and γ-Al2O3 support and designing new catalyst.
