Label-free interaction analysis based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) allows detailed investigations of protein binding events and has therefore become a standard tool for academic research and drug discovery.Being a quantitative technique,SPR can be used to determine real-time kinetic, affinity and specificity data for binding interactions,as well as the active concentration ofbiomolecules in solution.Since the introduction of the technology almost 20 years ago,SPR has provided binding information in various applications for a range of target-analyte combinations, not only for protein-protein studies but also for protein interactions with carbohydrates, oligonucleotides, peptides, drug candidates and others.
