Over the last a few years, proteomics using tools such as LC-MS has identified huge numbers of potential biomarkers for various human diseases. It is of urgent to generate antibodies to those potential biomarkers.Immunogen design has been over-looked by many people in the past, which leads to many failures in attempts to generate high quality antibodies.Once a potential biomarker was identified by LC-MS,one or two short amino acid sequences were selected for peptide synthesis to be used as immunogens. Many factors such as the length ofpeptide, immunogenicity, the specificity, even what carrier protein to be used, have to be well-considered.AbMax has developed a proprietary computer program that will aid our design of the immunogen based on our past experiences with over 2,000 different polyclonal and monoclonal antibody generation projects. It increases the success rate by 3-fold.
