Hyphomycetes are a class of mitosporic or anamorphic (asexual or imperfect) fungi belonging to the Deuteromycotina.About 1400 genera comprising more than 11,500 species are recognized.Traditionally, its taxonomy mainly based on the morphological characters of conidia and conidiophores.In fact, the morphology could not completely reflect the evolutionary relationship of Hyphomycetes.Thus, the notion of phylogeny should be introduced to resolve taxonomic ambiguities across-the-aboard.Here, we introduce some progress of Hyphomycetes in our research group, especially for Stachybotrys, Scolecobasidium, Humicola, Altemaria and Penicillium, and the relationship with its teleomorph.It might provide a clue for 1F=1N in the anamorphic fungal group.
