Plant has evolved constitutive and inductive defenses against insect herbivores, and the phytohormone jasmonate (JA) is a key regulator of the inductive pathway[1].Defense involves metabolic cost, which plant must adjust timely.In animals the immunity deteriorates in aged population, however, little is known about the age-related change of plant responses to insects.
