Oomycete pathogens such as Phytophthora capsici cause some of the most destructive plant diseases, and enhance susceptibility by delivering a large number of effectors (RxLR and CRN)into host plants.But the mechanism of effector is not well understood.In many respects, the atomic details offered by X-ray crystallography is beneficial to elucidating the mechanism of protein, because the function of protein is determined by its structure.
