  In this work,crystallized solid solutions of CePO4:Tb were successfully synthesized via simple hydrothermal treatment of mixed lanthanide nitrate solutions in the presence of orthophosphate,without the use of any surfactant or capping agent.Morphology of the CePO4:Tb nanocrystals was found easily controllable by varying the molar ratio of lanthanide to phosphate ions.The influence of Tb content on luminescence has also been analyzed.TEM and SEM analyses show that the as-synthesized products have two distinctive morphologies of nanorods(~100 nm long)and nanowires(~2.5 μm long)of high aspect ratios.
