Zeolites and related porous materials have recently attracted enormous attention as hosts or components for fabrication of nanocomposite materials with attractive properties and functions.Electrons may be transferred from zeolite host frameworks to guest organic molecules, rendering the former paramagnetic.1 Through vapor reaction of metallic zinc with a variety of protonated zeolites, univalent zinc-containing host-guest composites have been prepared.
