There has been much interest in the chemistry of metallabenzenes,metallaaromatics derived from formal replacement of a CH group in benzene by an isolobal transition metal fragment.Previous studies have led to the isolation of a number of metallabenzenes especially those with a late transition metal such as platinum, iridium, osmium, and ruthenium.
