Introduction Adequate analgesia and sedation can reduce pain and distress for children undergoing painful procedures including intramuscular botulinum toxin injections.While there is no established standard of care for procedural sedation of children receiving such procedures, the use of nitrous oxide with anaesthetic cream as well as general anaesthesia have been reported.Ketamine and midazolam are effective analgesic and sedative agents often used as paediatric procedural sedation for painful procedures.To our knowledge, there are currently no reports of their use in intramuscular botulinum toxin procedures.
