Liquid membranes using ionic liquids were applied for the membrane air cleaning that is separation of CO2 gas, VOC vapors and water vapor form air.Liquid membrane was constructed as a supported liquid membrane of 20 m thickness sandwiched by hydrophobic microporous membrane, which enabled the vacuum mode permeation of vapors and gas contained in the air.lonic liquid-base liquid membranes were durable for a long-time operation.Since ionic liquid had small separation performance for CO2 and water vapor, active agent was mixed in the liquid membrane, for example, amine liquid for CO2 separation, LiCl for water vapor separation.
