Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with a tendency to recur.Usually psoriasis recurs in previously affected areas (Fig.1), so a pathogenic memory within psoriatic skin has been proposed, but the nature of such site-specific recurring memory is unknown.Tissue-resident memory T (TRM) cells are non-recirculating memory T cells that persist long-term in epithelial tissues, including the gastrointestinal tract,lung, and skin.Because they can localize in the epidermal compartment of the skin for many months, we spectulate that TRM may contribute to recurring pathology of psoriasis.
