To evaluate the role of the DNA methylation of the CpG island within the PON1 promoter on the clinical efficacy of the dual-antiplatelet therapy of aspirin and clopidogrel in patients with CAD after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).538 patients undergoing PCI and received dual-antiplatelet therapy were sequentially recruited and followed up to 1 year.Bisulfite PCR-sequencing was used to screen specific sites with methylation difference among patients with major adverse cardiac events (MACE), bleeding, and neither of them.Then, the effect of site-specific methylation detected by pyrosequencing on MACE or bleeding was assessed.
