A process of residual collection, drying, crushing and solidification is necessary for pellet molding.Asparagus ferns grown in 2009 were collected from the ground in April in 2010 (spring collection) and those grown in 2010 were collected in November 2010 (autumn collection).Elapsed time was recorded in the process of collection, drying, crushing and the solidification. In the autumn, collection and drying of fern residue took 546 hours. Most of this was in the drying process which took 434 hours. On the other hand, only 48 hours was used for the spring fern material which was dried in a plastic house, requiring no energy input. The dried materials were crushed and 253 kg of pellets were produced from spring collection and 222 kg from autumn collection.
