The standard mortality rate for esophageal cancer in the country is 14.95 per 100,000, and the Xinjiang Kazakh is 68.95 per 100,000. The distribution of esophageal cancer in Xinjiang varies significantly among ethnic groups. To explore the causes of the differences, we went to Xinyuan County in Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture and Jinghe County in Bortala Mongolia Autonomous Prefecture from August to September 1978 to investigate the relationship between dietary and nutritional characteristics of different ethnic groups and esophageal cancer. Xinyuan County is one of the high-incidence counties of esophageal cancer. The mortality rate of esophageal cancer among farmers and herdsmen of the Kazakh nationality is significantly different. The herdsmen are higher than the farmers. The death rate of esophageal cancer in Jinghe County is a moderate level in Xinjiang. Han, Victoria, Mongolia and Kazakhstan The four ethnic groups live together in one place, and the ratio of esophageal cancer mortality is 1:2:3:9.
