2002年3月19日中国灾害防御协会召开常务理事会。中国地震局、国家科技部、中国气象局、中国科协、国家环保总局、国家安全生产监督管理局、中国人民保险公司的领导及专家与会。会议由科技部刘燕华副部长、原中国科协副主席刘恕主持,中国灾协常务副会长、中国地震局副局长汤泉作了2000～2001年工作报告,他强调中国减灾工作一是要把防灾减灾工作和社会可持续发展联系起来,二是要加强对综合减灾的科技投入,尤其配合“十五“

China Earthquake Administration, Ministry of Science and Technology, China Meteorological Administration, China Association for Science and Technology, State Environmental Protection Administration, State Administration of Work Safety, People’s Insurance Company of China leaders and experts. The meeting was chaired by Liu Yanhua, vice minister of Science and Technology, former vice chairman of China Association for Science and Technology Liu Shu, executive vice president of China Disaster Relief Association and director of China Earthquake Administration Tang Quan made the 2000-2001 work report. He stressed that China’s disaster reduction work should first Disaster prevention and mitigation and social sustainable development are linked, the second is to strengthen scientific and technological input to comprehensive disaster reduction, especially with the “Tenth Five-Year”
