Objective To study the clinical value of negative pressure drainage in parotid surgery and to explore the relationship with postoperative complications such as salivary fistula. Methods A total of 400 patients with parotid gland disease undergoing surgery were randomly divided into positive pressure drainage group and negative pressure drainage group. Positive drainage and negative pressure drainage were used respectively to observe salivary fistula, flap necrosis and wound fluid And hematoma and other complications, analysis of different drainage methods on postoperative management. Results The incidences of postoperative salivary fistula, flap necrosis, wound fluid and hematoma were 15.0% in patients undergoing positive pressure drainage and 4.0% in patients receiving negative pressure drainage, with significant difference (P <0.01) Patients in negative pressure drainage group also had better I-phase healing effect without pressure dressing. Conclusions Negative pressure drainage is more effective in patients with parotid gland disease than positive pressure drainage and has high clinical value.
