1984年,原苏联一个专门生产军事光学镜片的工厂LeningradskijeOptiki Mechanitscheskije Objedi nienie(Lomo)开始研发一种小型、可以随身携带的间谍相机LC-A。1991年,两个奥地利的学生在布拉格买到了这样一部造型古旧、颇有原苏联社会写实主义风格的相机,因其特殊的成像效果及浓艳的色彩,吸引了众多年轻人的眼球,竟然成为地下艺术圈、文化圈的新宠儿。由于需求的呼声越来越高,这两个学生在1995年跑到圣彼得堡去要求这个早已关闭的工厂重新开张,再生产Lomo相机。于是,LOMO真正诞生了。
In 1984, Leningradskije Optik Mechanitscheskije objedi nienie (Lomo), a former Soviet Union factory specializing in military optical lenses, started to develop a small, portable spy camera LC-A. In 1991, two Austrian students bought such an old-fashioned and quite original Soviet-style realism camera in Prague, attracting the attention of many young people because of its special imaging effect and rich color.
