关于我国古代最早的航运活动,见于史书记载的有:伏羲(人类的始祖)曾经乘过筏;黄帝(中原各民族的共同祖先)手下的大臣共鼓和货狄发明了舟船,颛顼(古代部族的首领)发明了桨和篙;帝喾(古代部族的首领)发明了舵和橹;尧(父系氏族社会后期部族联盟的首领)发明了纤绳等等。伏羲、黄帝、颛顼、帝喾、尧都是传说中的人物,其年代距今大约4000～5000
