董建华,1937年5月在上海出生,祖籍浙江定海,1948年随父亲董浩云来港,曾分别在中国内地、香港和英国接受教育,1960年毕业于英国利物浦大学机械工程学系。大学毕业,董建华即到美国通用电力公司工作。一年后,他由美国返港,在港逗留一年,于1965年7月,到董浩云在纽约的分公司工作,在美国居住将近10年,于1969年回港,期间,董建华有感自己是念工程出身,对管理认识不多,故此他抽空念了个工商管理硕士课程。
Tung Chee Hwa, born in Shanghai in May 1937, was originally from Dinghai, Zhejiang Province. He came to Hong Kong with his father Dong Haoyun in 1948 and received education in mainland China, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom respectively. In 1960, he graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Liverpool, England. After graduating from college, Tung Chee Hwa is working for the United States General Electric Company. A year later, he returned to Hong Kong from the United States and stayed in Hong Kong for one year. In July 1965, he worked for Tung Ho-wan in a branch in New York City. He lived in the United States for nearly 10 years and returned to Hong Kong in 1969. During this period, Tung Chee-hwa felt himself Is to read the project background, little understanding of management, so he took the time to read a master’s MBA program.
