The Lambert Glacier Basin is the largest ice-flow system in the Antarctic ice sheet, and therefore occupies a very important position in the material balance of the Antarctic ice sheet. In recent years, the on-site observation data obtained through the route investigation of the glacier basin and the results of the shallow ice core Shows that there is a clear difference between the accumulation rate distribution and the recent changes on both east and west sides of the glacier: the accumulation rate on the east side is higher and has been increasing in recent decades, and the accumulation rate on the west side is lower and obviously decreased in the past few decades The measurement of ice body velocity and the calculation of ice flow show that the glacier has a fast moving velocity and a large ice flow, which indicates that the supply of glacial ice mass mainly comes from the eastern side of the glacier. An amount greater than about 13% of the ice flux outflows means that the basin is currently in a materially balanced state and ice sheets will thicken if the current climate is maintained.
