第三次全国人口普查是一次大规模的国情调查,是一件具有历史意义的大事。这次人口普查形成的有关人口分布及其经济、社会构成等方面的档案材料,乃是制定国民经济发展计划、安排人民的物质和文化生活、制定人口政策和规划的重要依据。完整、安全地保管好这批宝贵的档案材料,不仅是人口普查部门的重要职责,而且是我们档案部门的重大历史任务。六月底,我们从国务院第三次人口普查领导小组办公室获悉,对这次人口普查资料的管理工作早已有详细规定,对有关文书材料的管理办法也正在考虑中。这里发表的钟保华同志和桐城县档案馆的来信来稿,说明我们档案部门已经注意并且开始做这方面的工作。他们的意见,表现了档案部门和档案工作者的历史责任感。让我们大家一致努力,在这项伟大、艰巨的工作中作出应有的贡献吧!
The third national census is a large-scale national survey and is a historic event. The census data on the population distribution and its economic and social composition formed by the census constitute an important basis for formulating plans for national economic development, arranging the material and cultural life of the people and formulating the population policies and plans. The complete and safe custody of these valuable archives is not only an important part of the census department but also a major historical task for our archives department. At the end of June, we learned from the Leading Group Office of the Third Census of the State Council that the management of this census data has long been stipulated in detail and the management of the related clerical materials is also under consideration. The letter delivered here from Comrade Zhong Baohua and Tongcheng County Archives shows that our archival department has paid attention and started to do the work in this respect. Their opinions show the historical responsibility of archives and archivists. Let us all work together to make due contributions in this great and arduous task!
