叠合盆地存在多期构造变革,关键构造变革期的表现形式可以概括为:隆升剥蚀型变革期、海-陆转换型变革期和冲断-褶皱型变革期。关键构造变革期的主要控制因素有构造应力场转换、深部动力学机制的改变、深部热体制的转换等。关键构造变革期使叠合盆地具有明显的分期差异构造变形特征,我国大型叠合盆地分期差异构造变形主要表现为:加里东运动期隆升剥蚀、海西运动期隆升剥蚀和冲断-褶皱、海西-印支运动期海-陆转换、燕山运动期冲断-褶皱和喜马拉雅运动期冲断-褶皱,具体表现为构造变形的迁移和叠加、盆地结构类型的变化、区域不整合的形成、盆地边界的迁移、挤压和伸展的转换、盆山格局的变化等。
