The cytosolic chaperonin T-complex protein 1-ring com-plex (TRiC) or chaperonin containing T-complex protein 1 (CCT) is essential in de novo folding of approximately 10% of the eukaryotic, newly translated polypeptides as well as misfolded proteins.
