凯瑞·丘吉尔是英国女性主义剧作家,她的作品蕴含着女性主义运动的思想和理论。戏剧《天之骄女》是她的一部女性主义代表作,发表于1982年,一经发表便受到了社会及文学界的广泛关注,并多次获奖,成为了丘吉尔颇具代表性的作品之一。该剧以玛琳为主人公,重在表现以她为代表的女性为了获得成功而付出了惨痛代价。本文将从女权主义角度剖析剧中女性在家庭、社会及文化中的不同角色,并与《红字》中的海丝特·白兰进行对比,探究女性在寻求女性主义的这条道路上历经磨难与曲折的艰辛历程。
Kerry Churchill is a British feminist dramatist, her work contains the thoughts and theories of the feminist movement. One of her representative works of feminism, The Goddess of the Day, was published in 1982 and published widely in society and literary circles. She won numerous awards and became one of Churchill’s most representative works. The play to Marlene as the hero, focusing on the performance of women represented by her in order to succeed and paid a terrible price.
