江苏,地处长江中下游,平原广,劳力充裕,历来商品经济发达,是中国著名的“鱼米之乡”。她除了在农业上享有天然的优势外,工业上也十分发达,产值仅次于中国上海,居全国第二位。可以毫不夸张地说,江苏在中国的经济上有着其重要地位,甚至“江苏模式”也慢慢地变成了中国经济学界的一个新名词。也就是在这片肥沃的土地上,“经纪人”这个对于大多数中国人还比较陌生的职业,却在这里迅猛地生根发芽。据统计,江苏省目前一共有13万的经纪人队伍,而预计到2004后将达到30万,在各级政府和工商部门的扶持下,江苏省经纪人发展迅猛,经纪成交业务量由上年的54.8亿元上升为307.98亿元,增长5.62倍。无锡、苏州、南京、徐州、镇江等地的经纪成交业务量分别达到30亿元以上,全省年经纪成交业务量突破亿元的县、市、区达19个。目前,由经纪人行为产生的交易额,占到了全省交易总额的10%……在规模和经营额都居全国首位。面对这样的一个事实,不免勾起了我们的遐思与联想,也正是这个原因,才促成了本刊记者的“江苏之行”。

With the support of governments at all levels and the business sector, the brokers in Jiangsu Province have developed rapidly and the volume of brokerage transactions has increased from the previous year 5.48 billion yuan rose to 30.798 billion yuan, an increase of 5.62 times. Wuxi, Suzhou, Nanjing, Xuzhou, Zhenjiang and other places brokerage turnover reached 3 billion yuan respectively, the province brokerage turnover exceeded 100 million yuan in counties, cities and districts reached 19. At present, the amount of transactions generated by the acts of brokers accounted for 10% of the total amount of transactions in the province ... ... both in terms of size and operating income ranks first in the country.
