近年来,我国职业教育发展很快,尤其是中等职业教育发展迅速。到1995年,高中阶段职业学校在校生已占整个高中阶段学生数的57％,招生人数占58.3％,中等教育结构有了较为明显地变化,全国各类中等职业学校中的省级重点学校已将近2000所。全社会各类中等职业教育的观念有一定程度的改善。简言之,全国职业教育的总体形势是比较好的。1996年9月1日开始实施的《职业教育法》,使职业教育的发展有了法律的保证。
