环境美学提倡用科学的方式来欣赏自然,承认和赞赏自然多样的言说方式,而不仅把自然当做娱乐的视觉资源。自然的每一部分因其言说能力而具有积极的审美价值。在对自然的欣赏中,既要注重科学的解释,也要注重自然物感性的方面。人类难以放弃彻底的反人类中心主义的立场来欣赏大规模的自然灾害,虽然所有的自然现象都有它应有的位置,但是必须由人类来决定它们是否具有潜在的审美价值,而对于这些现象给人类造成的疼痛、苦难和困难的道德考虑否定了自然灾害具有潜在的审美价值。自然不可能也不应该全部都具有审美欣赏价值。
Environmental aesthetics advocates the appreciation of nature in a scientific way, recognition and appreciation of natural and diverse ways of speaking, not just the use of nature as a visual resource for entertainment. Each part of nature has positive aesthetic value because of its ability to speak. In appreciation of nature, it is necessary to pay attention to scientific explanation, but also pay attention to aspects of natural sensibility. It is difficult for human beings to abandon radical anti-anthropocentric positions to appreciate large-scale natural disasters. Although all natural phenomena have their rightful place, human beings must decide whether they have potential aesthetic value. For these phenomena Moral considerations of pain, suffering and difficulty to human beings negate the potential aesthetic value of natural disasters. Nature can not and should not all have aesthetic appreciation value.
