On April 15 and 16, 2006, the “Secret Sandstorm” and “Direct Sandstorm” live broadcast programs produced by the China Television Meteorological Administration Film and Television Publicity Center (hereinafter referred to as the Publicity Center) were broadcast on Qinghai Satellite TV for 3 hours. This is the first time in China’s media that a live television program of major meteorological disasters has been broadcast, highlighting the awareness of rapid response of modern meteorological services in the first place and marking the full launch of a major disaster response information system constructed by China Meteorological Administration. Since the 21st century, with the change of climate environment, especially the global trend of climate warming, major meteorological disasters have occurred frequently in various parts of the world, resulting in a marked increase in the degree of destruction, economic loss and casualties.
